Chapter 1 I am your mate!
'Lucien, can we talk for a while?'
His heart tightened hearing the sweet voice, he stopped what he was doing and looked at the door which was tightly shut. He didn't want to see her, he was disgusted by her because of her lies and cruelty but for some unknown reason, he couldn't ignore her.
'Come!'
Ignoring the fact that he doesn't like her anymore, he answered. Then the door of his study room opened as the girl once he loved came to his vision. He watched her from head to toe, she was gorgeous and delicate. She looked innocent but he knew that she wasn't innocent at all.
She looked at him and slowly her pink lips curled upwards to a beautiful smile. Her hazel eyes were sparkling, they were showing the unlimited love she had for him. He moved his gaze away from her and looked back at the document he was reading.
'Speak!'
His voice was cold, then she immediately came and pulled the chair out beside her as she sat on it.
'I need to talk about us, Lucien..'
Hearing her, his heart turned cold. Slapping the document on the table he looked into her eyes with his emotionless eyes. He didn't miss the way her beautiful smile slowly faded away by looking at his face but he didn't give a damn.
'There's nothing about us Arabella, we're done. Why can't you just let me fucking live peacefully with my mate?' he snarled.
She gasped because of his angry voice, little by little her eyes moistened and she clutched her skirt and lowered her head. He felt his heart was aching because of the way he shouted but he was just annoyed by her.
She kept coming to him with so many lies every day, it was true that they were lovers but everything had changed. His heart didn't love her anymore, now he only loved his mate so he could not hurt the woman he loved.
She again looked at him and smiled painfully, she hid the pain but he could clearly see how hurt she was. He knew her more than anyone, she always used to bite her lips when she was hurt and sad as she was doing right now.
'Why can't you face the fact Arabella? We are not mates. You will find your mate. Just don't come to me anymore. I don't want to see you.'
He rubbed his forehead as he said that. He looked at the time and saw it was already four in the evening. His lips curled upwards remembering his mate who was waiting for him at his house. He sighed and got up from the chair as he walked away from Arabella.
'How can you tell me that I'm not your mate while my mind was screaming that you're my mate?'
He stopped and looked back at Arabella who was looking at him with tear-filled eyes. He hated seeing her tears when they were together but now her tears were nothing to him. He was also surprised by how fast he changed.
'Don't lie to me Arabella, you always did nothing but lie to me. I'm done with your lies,' he said as he looked into her eyes.
