Celebrate 160 years of Alice and join on her second adventure through the looking-glass.
Part of The Macmillan Alice range, celebrating the 160th anniversary of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with new editions of the classic books, plus The Complete Alice, The Macmillan Alice Pack of Cards, and The Nursery Alice.

Join Alice on her second adventure as she heads through the looking-glass to a place even curiouser than Wonderland. It isn’t as easy as she thought it would be: she’s instantly launched into the great looking-glass chess game, and hampered along the way by eccentric characters who pop up and insist on reciting poetry. Some of these poems, such as ‘Jabberwocky’ and ‘The Walrus and the Carpenter’, are as famous as the Alice stories themselves.

Macmillan was the original publisher of Alice in 1865, and is proud to remain true to the vision of its creators. Every bit as iconic as Lewis Carroll’s text are Sir John Tenniel's remarkable black line illustrations, perfectly capturing the combination of the ordinary and the extraordinary at the heart of Wonderland.

This beautiful edition of Alice Through the Looking-Glass has a gorgeous cover with shiny foil, and is packed full of bonus material including a quiz, a wordsearch and a glossary. The world of Wonderland is brought to life like never before!

Lewis Carroll was the pen-name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. Born in 1832, Dodgson was a mathematics tutor at Christ Church College, Oxford, where he met Alice Liddell, daughter of the dean, and inspiration for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The book and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, have delighted children all over the world for 160 years. Sir John Tenniel was already a renowned cartoonist when he was invited to produce illustrations for Alice. His exquisite engravings are among the most iconic and best loved images in the world.
