Herman Cyril McNeile, commonly recognized by his pen name 'Sapper', was a prolific British author born on September 28, 1888, and who passed away on August 14, 1937. He is best known for the creation of the character Bulldog Drummond, but his works also include the celebrated Ronald Standish series, which comprised a number of detective novels and short stories.
