Stories accompany me. They have fueled my imagination since childhood. Immersing myself in the lives of others sensitizes me to different perspectives. A life without stories would be impoverished. Inspired by correspondence with a Holocaust survivor, I started writing. She managed to awaken something in me that was already there. That's how I began to bring memories to life, engaging all the senses. In my work with middle school students, I have tried to make history come alive. Bringing young people together with Holocaust survivors, encouraging them to research backgrounds and develop questions, has enriched my everyday life as a teacher.
