Despite his younger brother doing everything in his power to find a solution to the problem plaguing the hills and his brother, Kiyoshi starts losing hope on getting back to normal and burys himself deep in depression till Daisuke returns to their hideout with a gold ring in his mouth.
However, it seems like the ring has some connection to them and a certain event in their past. A monster attacking their village and their mother waging the rings against it, however not much connecting the path to anything till they see the ring's effects on it.
Deep in the forest away from the villages, a group of samurai travel into the hills to look for two missing children. However, what they came across in the hills is even worse then they imagined.
