Chapter 1

Mysterious X

The Year Is 2067.......

“It’s funny how everything can be traced back to one single moment. My moment that changed me forever was going into the Advanced Assassins Program. Oh and if you’re wondering who I am, my name is the Mysterious X. Let me tell you how this all went down so I can catch you up to speed as to what is going on right now! It all started with an Experiment.” - Mysterious X

I was being tested on by a company called APRAX. They pretty much rule this world! They are the leader in everything and what can I say but wow that’s a lot of power for just one company. It all began when a cure for the immortal virus was being created. A man by the name of Doctor Krasnov struck up a deal with APRAX to find a cure for the sickness. You see the immortal virus pretty much made everything living immortal and it created problems for the entire globe. Animals lived forever it seemed that death was a thing of the past. Basically what I’m trying to say is that it was the worst period in history. After Krasnov decided to work for APRAX they began various test projects on making the most effective assassin. They called it the Advanced Assassins Program. I was one of their many test subjects that they experimented on. What they did in that lab was beyond human. I was implanted with something special that I can’t even begin to describe! All I remember was being surrounded by a substance that allowed me to teleport and do various other abilities. Well the first thing I did when I got implanted with this power was break free from their restraints that they were using to hold me down with and then fought my way through that awful place! I finally managed to escape the facility but not before seeing Krasnov give me a look of sadness. As to why he felt pity for me I have no idea but I guess it might have struck a chord of humanity within him seeing me escape. With that I teleported away as best as I knew how. I gotta say controlling powers that you’ve just gotten is really hard. Well right now I’m currently hiding out in an apartment complex planning my next move. I’ve decided to call myself the Mysterious X named after this stuff that they put into me. All I can hope for is that APRAX has a plan because I’m coming for them and their is nothing that’s going to get in my path!

Meanwhile on a roof top not far away.......

The rain was pouring and Night Sniper was ready to kill!

“I have the target in sight! Should I attack the hostile?” said Night Sniper.

Meanwhile in APRAX Headquarters.......

“You may fire when ready. Let’s hope this runaway test subject doesn’t put up to much of a fight. It would be wise not to for his sake !”said Author X.

“Are you sure you should be shooting a runaway test subject?” said Krasnov.

“Well I’m more sure in taking out trash than keeping it around to cause problems for us later.” Author X said with a grin.

“You should have just sent me in. I could have easily taken him in no problem.” remarked a man in the corner.

“Oh right, sure just send a glowing being of pure energy to just capture a rogue test subject with unfathomable power. Why didn’t I think of that! ”said Krasnov.

“Ener-Chi! We’ve been over this before. This is a highly classified mission not a weapons testing experiment. You’ll get your chance to take him out later. You may infiltrate the complex when your ready Night Sniper.” "replied Author X.

At The Same Time Back On The Rooftop...

“Affirmative sir. This is going to be fun!” said Night Sniper to himself as he readied the trigger to fire at Mysterious X.

Just then he pulled the trigger and fired directly into the building X was hiding in. At that exact same moment Mysterious X quickly teleported out of the way of the shot and onto the roof Night Sniper was positioned on.

“Who are you?” X asked.

“What the? I am your demise you fool!” said Night Sniper.

“Well I hope you packed more than just a gun and lead cause your gonna need luck on your side if you’re gonna face me!” laughed X.

“Sorry luck is just a foolish game of fate people play.” Said Night Sniper in a disgusted tone.

“I guess the real question I want to ask is why are you after me? Oh wait let me guess APRAX gave you a contract to kill me is that right.” X asked him.

“Your a runaway lab rat and rats belong in in cages.” said Night Sniper sending a blast his way.

“Oh that’s just cruel!” X snapped.

“I was in the advanced assassins project. The same one that gave you powers!” said Night Sniper.

“So what now your lap dog to hunt runaway experiments? Is that it? What a life of luxury you live!” retorted X dodging another blast from him.

“I can leave whenever I choose to! You on the other hand have nowhere left to run or go to for that matter!” and with that Night Sniper fired a shot directly at X’s at his face.

X teleported away again from the blast and reappeared right behind Night Sniper.

“Your wrong about that! I can go wherever I please. As a matter of fact I can teleport wherever I please.” said X as he ejected tentacles from his suit and jabbed them into Night Sniper’s black armor.

Night Sniper fired three shots through his own chest and broke free from X’s grip.

“Nice shot you pierced my armor and made me vulnerable however I still have a lot more rounds to shoot off before I’m done with you!” said Night Sniper recovering from the previous blow.

“You better make it quick cause I’m starting to get really good at dodging them!” said X smugly from his concealed position.

“Well then it seems I have to up my game then. This time I’m aiming to kill!” said Night Sniper as he pulled out a couple explosive rounds to aim at Mysterious X.

“Assassins are nothing more than hired slaves to carry out tasks for cowards who can’t do it themselves!” Mysterious X exclaimed to him

(Blam! Blam! Blam!)

“I’m going to destroy you X whether you like it or not!” Night Sniper said as he fired off three explosive shots at Mysterious X’s hidden position. Just then Mysterious X fell out in front of Night Sniper.

“Well I gotta hand it to you, you do make an explosive comeback.” said X.

“Enough I’m taking you in where you will answer for your crimes against APRAX!” Night Sniper yelled at him before he knocked Mysterious X out with a punch.

“You know the funniest thing about these powers is I can make you think you’re doing something you’re not.” said X as he snuck right behind Night Sniper.

“What!?”replied Night Sniper surprised and confused. Then it hit him there was no Mysterious X in front of him at all. It was an illusion.

“I probably will never do that again, but now do me a favor and stay out of my way! I’m going to take down APRAX whether you like it or not!” exclaimed Mysterious X as he used his powers to create tentacles to wrap right around Night Sniper and launch him right off the roof!

“Ahhhhh!!”said Night Sniper as he fell off the building and down into the back alley below!

“Now that that’s settled, where was I?” said Mysterious X as he took a deep breath and tried to recover from the encounter.

“Not so fast X I have a few questions for you!” said a man.

“Oh no what do you want?”said X.

“I want justice but for now I’ll settle for some answers because right now this city needs the Mysterious X and the Iron Fighter if there is any chance of rebuilding this world.” he said to him.

“Okay but you don’t have to sound so self-righteous about it.” said X grudgingly.

Meanwhile In The Alley Below.....

“I’m lucky to be alive from that fall. I’m done working for APRAX. I did my part now they can take care of the X problem. This job almost cost me my life. I’ll go into hiding for now and take some time to heal.” Night Sniper thought to himself as he drug his body away from the alley to go find aid for his wounds.

Meanwhile At Iron Fighter’s Armory…

“Listen X! I’ve gotten word from a source that says APRAX is up to something big.” said Iron Fighter.

“Oh really!” said X mockingly, “Runaway assassin test subjects and the total take over of the previous government didn’t give it away!”

“Shut up X I’m not playing around!” said Iron Fighter as he threw X towards a wall with his metal suit.

“Well that’s no way to treat a fellow crime fighter much less an old friend.” X said as he struggled to get up from the wall he was thrown into.

“Why didn’t you teleport out of the way to avoid the wall? said Iron Fighter,”Don’t you have powers that can do that?”

“I thought I’d give you a free shot.”...
