A world of injustice and the death-grip of immorality versus steadfast love and authenticity have trickled down to shape the main characters in the My Father series of which Sufficient Sacrifice is the third novel.
Sufficient Sacrifice is the mesmerizing culmination of two competing forces in the life and lineage of one man who gave his all to save his child.

Simon Hagan’s life has been portrayed over several decades in Annette Valentine’s novels Eastbound From Flagstaff and Down to the Potter’s House. In Sufficient Sacrifice, he bears the burden of responsibility to give his child, Alexandra, the foundational strength she needs to navigate the bumpy road of her youthful years and the proverbial wings she needs to fly against the winds of young adulthood.

With the goal of Sufficient Sacrifice elevating the power of a father’s love for his child, the story poses the question of whether Simon’s influence has diminished over time or been compromised by the eroding push of a determined woman. Simon, however, makes the necessary sacrifices and having given all he had to give, Sufficient Sacrifice uniquely portrays his stunning and triumphant victory over Alexandra’s confusion and rebellion. The results land her on higher ground, enabling her to be more than conqueror.

Annette Valentine’s Southern roots account for her purposeful historical fiction writing and the imaginative works found in her two preceding books of the My Father trilogy. Both novels, Eastbound From Flagstaff and Down to the Potter’s House, stand alone as eloquent sagas of the resilience of the human spirit. Annette holds a degree from Purdue University and owned an interior design business that showcased her award-winning career as a professional designer. She and her husband happily reside near Nashville, Tennessee in historic Franklin.
