TAURUS – The Manifester

Welcome to the second incarnation of the zodiac, Taurus energy. This is where our quality of life is looked at as an art form to obtain all we need, in order to carry out our life’s mission. We are the gifts our Creator gave power to, in order to manifest what we desire. So, why is the majority of the world stuck in a poverty consciousness designed to tear us down and build us up, only to tear us down once again? Is it solely to dismantle our power to manifest? Every sign could benefit from Taurus energy if we learn to tap into its strength and fully believe in our personal power versus what society craftily deems important.

There’s a subtle power in the Bull that’s void in other signs. Taurus energy has a fierce respect for life that you can witness almost anywhere. I’ve noticed this energetic drive in the determined sincerity of special needs workers. How they carefully apply compassion and consideration in people less fortunate than themselves. The best magical position of this sign is to plow through difficult moments, rooted in the conviction of its earthbound shoes, while adding beauty and serenity wherever it lands. Most know that Taurus energy is best noted for their stubborn disposition, leading with an understanding that life needs to evolve in quality, in order to live life fully. Although money is a constant conversation and a necessary tool, the purpose behind the green is what matters most. This sign recognizes the importance of having maximum options to create the best results. Luxury and opulence are not important. Its relationship “to have” supports the need “to build” a solid future. According to Taurus energy, one cannot exist without the other.

I read a quote once: “We are the only species on the planet that pays to live here!” We arrive from our mother’s womb, securing an instant hospital bill that promises to keep us safe. We’re conveniently placed in zip codes and school zones that tax our dollars and educate our children based on a viewpoint devised by Native Americans’ betrayers. We’re forced into jobs that squelch the human spirit and the imagination to make the 1% more money than they’ll be able to spend in seventeen lifetimes. Taurus energy is a quiet ambassador on a mission to dismantle these confines. It marches in believing if one completely subscribes to these set visions, they will die decades before their heart stops. So, they methodically plan and protect their monetary investments and quality of life by envisioning themselves bigger than what the majority suggest they are. Taurus energy presents itself with a reverence that requires little validation. Their energy is present on the planet as a reminder that we are all worthy of the best. Whatever your sign, Taurus’s prosperous nature screams, “Get yours!”, hoping we all realize we are equally sacred as God’s creations. So, why are we restricted when proving that notion to ourselves? Personally, I’m still searching for that answer. However, I’ve had several incidents in my life that helped me uncover how Taurus energy attempted to prove otherwise.

New York City in the ‘80s was everything! Hip-hop was an urban chemistry experiment about to explode, Republican politicians engaged in monetary orgies, and Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans were the shit. I had to have them! They were women’s black or blue jeans that sported yellow stitching in the seam, ensuring a classic yet clean look. Gloria politely tagged a stylized signature on your right butt cheek, and a golden swan floated on the right front pocket for keepsake. They were a high waisted fit that gave every woman/girl the “booty cheek lift” we were searching for. At 14 years old, I felt tangible without permission and sexy without the knowledge of intercourse, but I wanted to be HOT! I burst into my mother’s room one day, politely demanding she’d purchase me a pair. She must’ve had her cycle, or her current boyfriend was about to become an ex or maybe it was just Tuesday, but I didn’t anticipate the barrage of questions I was about to receive. “How much do they cost? Why don’t you ask your father? Do I look like a money tree? Don’t you have some other jeans?” Let’s be clear, my mom is a beautiful, generous, and hard-working woman, who collected a moderate salary and had wardrobe dreams of her own. She unleashed the importance of money and responsible spending on many occasions, but that day was different. Her response somehow targeted me viscerally and resulted in me feeling “less than”. Celeste sounded like countless other single mothers monitoring their coins, but that mattered little. I needed Gloria Vanderbilt to validate me, lift my posterior, and make me shine. That day, I innately learned two worldly conditioning lessons: You ain’t shit without Vanderbilt Jeans, and if you want them you have to get them yourself. The power of manifestation was born!

Gloria Vanderbilt was partly responsible for me recognizing the importance of abundance. I knew I had to look beyond my circumstances of living in City Park projects, with moderate resources and a desire to look “fly”. I convinced myself that I was already abundant and everything around me was already an inheritance, by nature. Like the birds that soar proudly in the sky and the fish who swim freely in blue waters, everything I want on this planet is mine. Tapping into Taurus energy will help everyone discover this to be true, as well.

So, I got a job and worked hard. I passed by Macy’s Department Store every other day to scope my birthright on the mannequin in the window. I claimed those jeans, because I respected their position in my life. I learned to look past any material possession and notice the power we possess to manifest through planning, focus, and hard work. Society has been constructed to pigeon-hole most people; forcing us to rely on what’s given to us, as opposed to how we can create a way. Taurus energy possesses a stubbornness that originates from its will to stop at nothing in order to obtain it’s worth. It presents a powerful lesson to the world on how to vibrate higher and give attention to things that make you smile, righteously. The Bull teaches the world this concept through the conviction of loyalty.

Devotion is key to those aware of this Sun Sign energy. They display this clearly by almost always keeping their word to anyone that experiences them - their spouse, their children, a neighbor and/or a boss. You can bet your last twenty dollars if this earth signs says it will do something; they are hellbent to deliver! Taurus energy believes, in the midst of an ever-changing world, what you declare should be reliable and integral in upholding an honest trustworthy character. According to this sign, lies and deception have a tendency of creating complex problems Taurus people wish not to detangle. As we meander throughout the planet and spot an opportunity to live this simplistic way of life, you have the vibration of Taurus energy to thank.

Regardless of how difficult a task is or how long it could potentially take, this Earth sign finds a way to get it done. Even when someone else is awarded an opportunity over them, seeing a job completed righteously is more important than receiving recognition or reward. So, disappointing someone at any cost is a burden a Taurus cannot live with. Coupled with a caring heart that genuinely wants everybody to win, it breaks them when they are perceived to be undependable and/or self-serving. Open your eyes and witness how the planet is littered with dedicated individuals helping underprivileged youth through organizations such as Project Fly LA or local beach cleanup crews committed to keeping the oceans safe for our environment. Taurus energy stands firm on its vow to bring harmony and quality to a system solely focused on monetary gains. If we pay closer attention, everyday people are quietly affirming who they are and mending communities with a strength and resilience that proves beneficial in the end. Taurus energy teaches that going strong and steady builds foundations that are aimed to last for generations. In 1987, as a junior in high school, I struggled with sticking to one thing and applying discipline to my daily routine.
