When four adults go into a house that doesn't belong to them. One of them mistakenly unleashes an evil entertainer, that has been locked away for a hundred years. Now they must fight to survive, or do they?

Chapter 1

The alarm buzzes, Samson Johnson wakes up in a cold sweat, gasping for air, as he knocks the alarm clock off the nightstand. He rubs his eyes and face as he remembers his nightmare. It seemed so real, but as the nightmare begins to evaporate in the morning light, he tried desperately to see if his nightmare had any factuality to it. He was clinging to the name Johnson. The same name as his family. Were we related or not? He wondered. He lays in bed with the morning light, shining into the window.

Even now he can feel the cold air pressing on his face, his cheeks become cold to the touch, he feels the touch of a woman, but he also feels her pain. But does he really feel this or is it left over from the nightmare? He feels as though he is reliving something from the past, something that was happening way before he was born. He questions why he was the only one getting these nightmares, when he comes from such a large family.

Hihene, Illinois, present day, is an historic bustling town, where visitors come from all over to see the old shops on the main road, a mom and pop diner, a grocery store, bed and breakfast inns, an old style church from the early days, and an original police department, with stone walls, and a large sign on top that

reads “Police Department.” Hihene sits high above the rest of the small towns. Many visitors are drawn here to utilize the hiking trails, walking trails, bicycle rentals and go horseback riding.

The town maintains the original architectural design of the 1920s. There are a few bars that look like they’re from the old west complete with large panes of glass and swinging doors at the entrance. The town was jammed with visitors.

Samson, the older of the three siblings, is in his mid-forties, well-groomed and works as an engineer, while his brother Simon, early forties and somewhat disheveled, is a scientist. As they drive by a beautiful house on the outskirts of Hihene, suddenly, a ghostly figure moved the curtains aside and caught Simon’s attention, who stared at it as it slowly disappeared into the darkness of the house. “Did you see that?” Simon asks.

Samson, with a confused look on his face, makes a quick look around. “See what? What was I expected to see?” He asks.

Simon closes and opens his eyes, “Never mind.” Simon continues to look back at the house, hoping to see the figure again however to no avail. They drive down the road and the house disappears from sight. Simon is still contemplating if he really saw what he thought he saw. Simon looks at Samson, “I think I saw a ghost in that window back there."

Samson responded, “Come on, you only imagined you saw something. It could have been the way the light reflected off the window.” Samson, turns the radio on. “We’ll be there in a few minutes, you will love this place it has everything in it that one would desire.” Samson feels a cold draft and gets a tingling sensation. He cannot wait to get to the hotel, as this feeling is not want he wants to have while on vacation. The car pulls up to a large, sprawling, hotel where it is bustling with people arriving and leaving.

Inside the hotel is beautiful, with large water fountains, a spacious front desk, seating area, meeting area, and a fireplace where everyone can gather around. On the right side is a large restaurant with a bar for the guests only. Samson and Simon, carrying their luggage, enter and walk up to the front desk. Katlyn Jennings, also in her forties, stands behind the desk, she looks up at them. “We have a reservation for two, under Johnson,” Samson says.

Katlyn looks at the registration book. “Oh yes here we are, Johnson.” She turns and takes the key off the rack and hands it to Samson. “Enjoy your stay,” Katlyn says. As they turn and walk away, Katlyn stares at them. Katlyn, after a long pause, goes back to work.

Tammy Graves approaches, carrying a small bag while the bell boy pushes a large luggage cart up to the front desk. Tammy notices how Katlyn is staring at the two men walking away. Tammy walks up to her. “Those guys are real lookers. Hopefully they will notice me since I am here alone, single and looking.” They laugh. “By the way a reservation for Graves.” She said.

Katlyn responds, “Oh yes they certainly are.” Katlyn looks through the reservation book. “Here we are, Graves, room 204,” she said. Katlyn grabs the key of the rack and hands it to her. Katlyn is shaking her head as she watches the bell boy struggle with all the luggage.

The door opens and Samson and Simon, enter. This is a spacious room, with two queen size beds, a large desk, dining table, two nightstands, a large dresser with an armoire and a large flat screen TV. They plop their luggage on the bed. Simon, begins to look around. “Wow this room is big. What else does this place have to offer?” Simon asks.

lSamson, “Well this place has a large swimming pool, a game room with a pool table, foosball table and other games, a workout room, and a bar with live bands. Get dressed so we can go and grab some dinner.” Samson stares out of the window, as though he is captivated by something outside. He feels this presence of a woman, the one who has come to him before. He wanted to hide from it, but he knew he couldn’t.

Nothing seemed to come into his mind. No memories or images. However he knew somewhere in the depths of his mind the images would come flooding back at the least opportune time. Samson snaps out of his trance and looks around as though his mind doesn’t know where he is.

Samson and Simon walk up to the hostess, Nina, in her forties, sporting work clothes. “A booth for two please.” Samson said.

“Follow me!” She said. The place is packed with customers, they have large screen TV’s on all over the area, so no matter where you sit you can see the TV. They follow her to a booth and sit. “Can I start you two off with a drink?” she asked.

Samson, “Can we have two beers?” he asked.

Nina, “Sure can, I’ll be back with your beers and the menus.” Nina turns and walks away.

Simon, looking around, “Wow this is a really nice place. I take it you have been here before.”

Samson, looks up, “I have been here a few times for work. My boss likes to hold the yearly conferences here.” Nina walks up to the booth with the two beers and menus.

Nina, “I’ll be back in a few, take your time.” Samson and Simon begin to flip through the menus.

Katlyn enters. She sees Samson and Simon sitting at a booth, sipping on their beers. Katlyn walks up to the bar and sits. Nina walks up to her. “How was your shift?” she asked.

Katlyn, “Busy as usual! Do you see those two guys sitting over there at the booth?”

Nina, “What two guys?” she asked

Katlyn, conspicuously pointing at Samson and Simon. “Over there!” She said.

Nina, “Oh yes how can you not notice them. They’re my customers until my shift is over!” She said.

Katlyn, “I have seen that one here before, I think his name is Samson, or something like that.” She said.

Nina, “I’ll find out for you!” She said. Nina walks up to booth. “Are you ready to order?” She asks.

Samson, “Yes I would like the T-bone steak, with a baked potato and corn!” He said.

Nina, “How would you like your steak cooked?” she asks.

Samson, “Medium rare, please!” He replies.

Simon, “I’ll have the same!” He said

Nina, “Two medium rare steaks coming up! Would you guys like another beer?” She replies.

Samson, “Yes please!” He replies. Nina turns and walks away. Simon looks at Samson. “Are you okay?” He asks.

Samson, “I’m fine! Why do you ask?”

Simon, “You seem distant!”

Samson, “No, really I’m fine...”

Simon interjects, “Let’s have a good time then. We didn’t drive all the way out here to mope around.”

Samson, “Not at all!”

Samson can feel the cold draft on his face, he looks around but he can’t see where the draft could be coming from. He feels this presence creeping ever closer and tries to remember his nightmare. He looks into the main corridor and sees a visage, although she seems to be floating as she moves. Images of her flood his mind.

Suddenly, a bright light blinds him as he shades his eyes with his hand, trying to shade his eyes from the intense light. Then, through the light, he sees a vision of a woman, calling to him, asking for help as she stares at him, with black eyes.

Simon looks at him, “Are you okay?” he asks.

Samson, “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

Katlyn walks up to them. “May I sit?” she asks. They both nod their head yes.

Samson looks at her and asks. “Do you know anything about that house on the outskirts of town?”

Katlyn, “Well the old story goes that in 1901 a family bought the property and had their house built on it. The land was close to town, as they wanted to be part...
