Love and Pride tells the struggle between Elizabeth Bennett, the daughter of a provincial gentleman, and Fitzwilliam Darcy, the wealthy and noble landowner. The clever and enthusiastic Elizabeth is not only Austen's favorite female hero, but also one of the most interesting female novelists of all English literature.
