Simon Beaufort is the pseudonym of a husband and wife writing team. They lived in Cambridge for many years, where they were members of the University, before moving to west Wales. Beau Riffenburgh is a historian, specialising in the history of exploration, and has published a number of books on popular history. He was also a writer for the American National Football League before turning to an academic career. Liz Cruwys is a former police officer-turned marine biologist, specialising in environmental contamination in the polar regions. She also writes under the pseudonym Susanna Gregory.
