A twisted tale of sadistic Sorcerers and the monsters they create.

In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers has been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they'll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.

With success almost in his grasp for once, Fujita is forced to strike a desperate, dangerous deal with Tetsujo, last survivor of the slaughtered Cross-Eyes. Meanwhile, En's former "cleaners" Shin and Noi venture through the Central Department Store to try and resurrect their boss. And Ebisu ... well, she's just doing Ebisu stuff. All the while, Nikaido continues to manifest stranger and stranger powers under the guidance of former Devil Asu.

Born in 1977, Q-Hayashida graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and debuted in 1997 with Sofa-chan, which was a runner-up in Monthly Afternoon’s Shiki Prize newcomers competition. Starting in August 1999, the series Maken X Another was serialized in Magazine Z. In December 2000, Dorohedoro began its run in Spirits Zokan Ikki. It would continue in the magazines Monthly Ikki, Hibana, and Monthly Shonen Sunday, before coming to an end in October of 2018. The fruits of this intensely productive period of work have been realized in this art book. Q-Hayashida's latest work Dai Dark, which began in April 2019, is serialized in Monthly Shonen Sunday.
