Angela and Maxine want to make it to the Top of the Pops in the pursuit of love, casual sex and fame. Everything is going according to plan until Angela is diagnosed with terminal leukaemia. This threatens to drive a wedge between the friends, until Angela can come to terms with death and the need for Maxine to move on without her.

Gordon Steel's first play Dead Fish won a Fringe First, and was nominated for The Independent Theatre Critics Award. Like a Virgin was a hit at the Edinburgh Festival, before going on to receive further critical acclaim on a nationwide tour with the Hull Truck Theatre Company.
