Sally Spencer was born and brought up in Cheshire, where several of her books are set. She has worked as a teacher both in England and Iran - where she witnessed the fall of the Shah. She now lives in Spain and writes full-time. Sally enjoys travel and has visited most of Europe, as well as parts of the Middle East, Asia and the USA. She is an almost fanatical mah jong player.
