Later pieces introduce slurs, accidentals and new bowing patterns. Above all, the aim is to enable the beginner violist to make real music from the very start—technical limitations do not prevent the player from enjoying music which is imaginative, exciting and fun. The piano accompaniments have been kept as simple as possible
