A central figure in the Post-Minimal and feminist movements in New York, Miyamoto’s practice spans sculpture, installation, performance, and works on paper, exploring the body’s relationship to space, material, and the politics of labour and display. Her “String Constructions” are sculptures made from cotton thread, nails, and drawn lines, whose central characteristic is their temporality: The volume shows reconstructions alongside a selection of archival images.
