Jan Schumacher is a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he also serves as the Director of Music. He is one of the vice-presidents of the International Federation for Choral Music, Artistic Director of the German National Choir Competition, and Artistic Director of the Frankfurter Singakademie. With his ensemble, Camerata Musica Limburg, he has performed at the IFCM World Symposium on Choral Music, the ACDA National Conference, and America Cantat. Jan has worked extensively as a conductor and guest teacher in conducting across Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States.
