From a life in comedy to the Glitterball Trophy – Chris McCausland Tells All.
The perfect feel-good gift for fans of comedy and Strictly alike!

'The thing about Chris is that he's funnier than everybody else' RICHARD OSMAN

'Oh my God, so funny, so nostalgic. I loved it!’ ALAN CARR
--

Already one of the country's best loved comedians, Chris McCausland's participation on Strictly was a phenomenon. But how did the boy from Liverpool end up winning the hearts of the nation?

This is his remarkable story, of a twenty-five-year journey through sight loss to blindness. Of the highs, the lows and the downright hilarious along the way.

From being a lowlife conker dealer, and running his very own bootlegging empire (kind of) . . . to almost becoming a spy for MI5 (really) . . .

And of how he dared himself to try stand-up comedy, and ended up being brilliant on all your favourite TV shows.

Before, of course, he surprised himself, as well as everybody else, when he tried dancing on live TV in front of millions.

Warm, honest, insightful and laugh-out-loud funny, this is the most likeable, cheering and uplifting book of the year!

Chris McCausland is a human from Liverpool who lives in the leafy suburbs of South West London. He was born in 1977, just three weeks after Liverpool’s first European Cup triumph and was incredibly disappointed to have missed the occasion. He loves pizza, but never actually tried one until he was twenty years old. His degree is in software engineering, which is nothing like normal engineering. He is a fan of both Apple and apples, and often enjoys typing on one whilst eating the other. He has an uncontrollable addiction to Salt & Vinegar Pringles, but is seeking help. He is blind and lost his sight gradually due to a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, which sounds sexier than it really is. He makes a fairly decent spag bol, but then again who doesn’t. He is terrified of flying in planes, but is weirdly fine with hot air balloons. He is a child of the 90’s grunge scene, but has never been to Seattle. He has never watched a single James Bond film and is absolutely fine with this. His knees crack every time he crouches down and his mouth hangs open whenever he thinks too hard. He therefore tries to do neither of these things. He won Strictly Come Dancing in 2024 His autobiography is available now.
