This book examines how artificial intelligence is transforming museums and art historical research by enhancing visitor inclusivity, scholarly innovation, and pedagogical practices. Chapters explore practical implementations of intelligent technologies, addressing accessibility, data-driven research, ethical frameworks, administrative leadership, and immersive digital learning. Combining theoretical insights with case studies and practical guidelines, it offers a comprehensive roadmap for responsibly integrating AI across art museums, scholarship, and education.

James Hutson is a leading authority at the convergence of artificial intelligence and art history, serving as Professor and Department Head of Art History, AI, and Visual Culture at Lindenwood University, where he also serves as the Lead XR Disruptor and oversees the Human-Centered AI and Interactive Technology Hub. Holding doctorates in both Art History (University of Maryland) and Artificial Intelligence (Capitol Technology University), Dr. Hutson s career bridges rigorous art historical scholarship with advanced computational and immersive technologies.

He has pioneered the integration of generative intelligence, extended reality, and neuroaesthetics into both research and pedagogy, designing innovative curricula and spearheading interdisciplinary degree programs. With additional master s degrees in Leadership and Game Design, Dr. Hutson has contributed to national and international projects on digital cultural heritage, AI-driven accessibility, and the future of creative education.
