An entertaining and insightful account of sixty years on the frontline of rock'n'roll, told with wit and candour by beloved Hollies' drummer, Bobby Elliott.
As the influential drummer from iconic rock'n'roll band The Hollies, Bobby Elliott has six decades worth of musical anecdotes. Continually touring since 1963, his adventures have seen him beating Keith Moon in a drumming audition, being serenaded by Joni Mitchell while she was in bed with Graham Nash and being offered a job by Paul McCartney to work with Wings.

Covering all such stories as well as exploring Bobby's personal highs and lows, It Ain't Heavy, It's My Story is a funny, honest and enlightening account of sixty years on the frontline of rock 'n' roll.

Bobby Elliott is best known as the dynamic drummer of The Hollies, one of Britain's most enduring pop-rock bands. Joining the group in 1963, Elliott quickly became recognized for his inventive, energetic style that drove hits like 'Bus Stop', 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother,' and 'Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress'. Prior to The Hollies, he honed his skills in local bands, developing a reputation as one of the finest drummers of the 1960s beat boom. He is still active with the band and lives in the Pennines, UK.
