GEFÜHLE (feelings) consists of spontaneously composed miniatures in a free style that blend elements of early music aesthetics with the composer’s personal mode of expression. The pieces reveal the delicate and sensitive facets of human emotions, suggesting the fleeting nuances of feelings that unfold in moments of solitude or gentle melancholy and resonate within each of us.
VALERIIA KORKKA ist eine russische Lautenistin, Gitarristin und Komponistin sowie Lehrerin für Laute und Gitarre. 2024 absolvierte sie die Schola Cantorum Basiliensis im Programm „Master of Arts in Musikalischer Performance“ (Renaissancelaute) und studiert dort derzeit Musikpädagogik. Besonderen Dank richtet sie an ihren ehemaligen Lehrer Konstantin Shenikov (St. Petersburg), Peter Croton (Basel) und ihren jetzigen Lehrer Prof. Julian Behr (Basel). Valeriia besuchte verschiedene Meisterkurse für Alte Musik und nahm an zahlreichen Wettbewerben teil, darunter der Internationale Wettbewerb „Gitarrenvirtuosen“ in St. Petersburg (2021), bei dem sie den 2. Preis in der Kategorie Laute gewann. GEFÜHLE sind spontan geschriebene Miniaturen in freiem Stil, welche die Ästhetik der Elemente der Alten Musik mit dem persönlichen Ausdruck der Komponistin verbinden. Die Stücke offenbaren die zarten und sensiblen Facetten menschlicher Emotionen und erzählen von den flüchtigen Nuancen der Gefühle, die sich in Momenten der Einsamkeit oder sanfter Melancholie entfalten und in jedem von uns Widerhall finden. VALERIIA KORKKA is a Russian lutenist, guitarist, composer, and teacher of lute and guitar. In 2024, she completed her studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in the Master of Arts in Musical Performance program (Renaissance lute) and is currently studying music pedagogy there. She extends special thanks to her former teachers Konstantin Shenikov (St. Petersburg), Peter Croton (Basel), and her current teacher, Prof. Julian Behr (Basel). Valeriia has attended various masterclasses in early music and participated in numerous competitions, including the International Competition „Guitar Virtuosos“ in St. Petersburg (2021), where she won 2nd prize in the lute category.
