In der Sonderpräsentation „Die Vermählung“ in der Kunstkammer des Kunsthistorischen Museums können Besucher:innen Schmuckstücke der österreichischen Schmuckkünstlerin Anna Heindl im Dialog mit dem Werk des sogenannten Meisters von Heiligenkreuz erleben. Anna Heindl (geb. 1950) ließ sich bei der Schaffung ihrer jüngsten Werkserie von dem Diptychon „Vermählung der heiligen Katharina“ (um 1400) inspirieren. In einem intensiven künstlerischen und forschenden Prozess setzte sich Heindl mit dem Werk auseinander. Die daraus entstandene Serie skulpturaler Schmuckobjekte wurde im Rahmen der Intervention in der Kunstkammer ausgestellt. Der Bildhauer Manfred Wakolbinger hat durch seine Ausstellungsgestaltung eine skulpturale „Bühne“ für die Kunstwerke Heindls geschaffen. Vervollständigt wird die Ausstellung durch frühere Arbeiten der Schmuckkünstlerin.
Das spannungsreiche Zusammenspiel zwischen zeitgenössischem Schmuckdesign und dem gotischen
sakralen Gemälde ist in dieser Form eine Premiere für das Kunsthistorische Museum. Erscheint anlässlich der Ausstellung „Die Vermählung. Eine Sonderpräsentation in der Kunstkammer“, KHM Wien. In the special presentation “The Marriage” in the Kunstkammer of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, visitors can experience pieces of jewelry by the Austrian jewelry artist Anna Heindl in dialogue with the work of the so-called Master of Heiligenkreuz. Anna Heindl (born 1950) was inspired by the diptych “Marriage of St. Catherine” (around 1400) when creating her latest series of works. The resulting series of sculptural jewelry objects was exhibited as part of the intervention in the Kunstkammer. The sculptor Manfred Wakolbinger has created a sculptural “stage” for Heindl's works of art through his exhibition design.
The exhibition is complemented by earlier works by the jewelry artist. The exciting interplay between contemporary jewelry design and the Gothic sacred painting is a first for the Kunsthistorisches Museum in this form.
