This volume explores the relationship between music, power, and politics, examining how music serves as a tool for empowerment, resistance, and alternative worldviews. The essays highlight how music can help minority groups establish a voice, fostering community and identity. Drawing on recent fieldwork and ethnographic research, the book features international perspectives from ethnomusicology and engages with contemporary discussions on music's role in shaping social and political realities. By focusing on music's potential for empowerment and social justice, the volume goes beyond viewing music merely as a form of protest, offering a broader perspective on its transformative power for marginalized communities.
