Drawing on his expertise as a medical professional and active pianist, Cameron Roberts provides an understanding of how virtuosic piano playing works from an evidence-based, scientific perspective. Using accessible language, this wealth of information will help readers steer away from uncertainty, suboptimal performance, and injury.
Cameron Roberts (MBBS, FRCA) is a concert pianist who performs with many of the world’s finest instrumentalists. He studied both music and medicine at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He also studied music at the National Academy of Music, Australia and internationally. Further, he holds a specialist degree in anaesthetics (Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK). For many years, he taught at the Reina Sofia School of Music, Madrid and, later, completed a PhD on the physical, perceptual and pedagogical aspects of the touch-tone relationship (University of New England, Australia).
