This new edition of the classic 'Tudor Responses' volume that first appeared in 1933 preserves the editions by Watkins Shaw that were published in 1966, though without Shaw's adaptations for the 1662 Prayerbook which have fallen into disuse. The new edition can easily be used alongside older copies for the 4 main sets by Byrd, Morley, Smith & Tomkins set for SAATB. In addition, the volume contains the Preces & Responses by Thomas Tallis in a new version for SATB, comprising the Preces from his 'First' set and the Responses from his 'Second' set as published by John Barnard in 1641, as well as settings of the Lord's Prayer by Robert Stone and Thomas Morley, edited by Geoffrey Webber. The texts of the Creed and Lord's Prayer have also been included for ease of reference.
