colophon - Magazin für Kunst und Wissenschaft is the outcome of a collaboration between the Institute of Art History of the University of Munich and the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Within the framework of a cooperative seminar, students from both institutions developed its contents under the direction of Magdalena Becker and Niklas Wolf. Accompanied by contributions from various young academics and graphically designed by students of the print workshop of the Academy of Fine Arts, the first issue is dedicated to questions of display.
Further issues of the magazine will be published semi-annually with a different thematic focus. Accompanying seminars will be taught by other lecturers, and the contributions will be created by other students and academics. Hence the name of the magazine. The colophon is one of those paratexts that can be added to a publication. In the case of a magazine it is equivalent to the imprint, in case of colophon it will consequently change with each issue.
