Ane Mette Hol setzt sich mit Randphänomenen der Kunstproduktion auseinander. Indem sie ihren Blick auf Nebensächliches richtet, auf Gegenstände etwa, die während des Entstehungsprozesses von Kunst im Atelier abfallen, oder auf Spuren, die beim Ausstellungsaufbau im Raum übrigbleiben, schärft sie den Blick auf die künstlerischen Produktionsbedingungen. Die Künstlerin analysiert Oberflächen auf ihre Beschaffenheit und rekonstruiert diese minutiös in langwierigen Prozessen. Bei genauer Betrachtung erweisen sich all diese unscheinbaren Materialien und Überreste als detailreiche, handwerklich perfekte Zeichnungen.
Für den Katalog zeichnete die Künstlerin 12 karierte A3-Seiten, wie in einem Schulheft üblich, nach. Die Idee eines Schulheftes wird weiter durch die Klammerheftung des Kataloges aufgegriffen. Allerdings wird auch hier ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Produktion gelegt, anders als sonst wurde die rechte, äußere Kante nicht beschnitten. Dies hebt die natürliche Papierverdrängung beim Prozess des Buchbindens hervor und die rechte Kante läuft spitz zu. Ane Mette Hol deals with marginal phenomena of art production. By directing her gaze to the incidental, to objects that fall off during the process of creating art in the studio, for example, or to traces that remain in the room during the exhibition setup, she sharpens the view of the artistic conditions of production. The artist analyzes surfaces for their texture and reconstructs them meticulously in lengthy processes. On closer inspection, all these inconspicuous materials and remnants turn out to be detailed, perfectly crafted drawings.
For the catalog, the artist traced 12 squared A3 pages, as usual in a school notebook. The idea of a school notebook is further echoed by the staple binding of the catalog. However, special attention is also paid to the production, unlike usual, the right, outer edge was not trimmed. This highlights the natural paper displacement in the process of bookbinding and the right edge runs to a point.
