All Creatures Great & Small is a Playground Production for Channel 5 and Masterpiece, in association with All3Media International and Screen Yorkshire. The classic veterinary drama, based on James Herriot’s adventures in 1930s Yorkshire, is directed by Brian Percival and stars Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Nicholas Ralph, Callum Woodhouse and Rachel Shenton. The first series won the Voice of the Viewer and Listener Awards 2020 for Best Drama, and was nominated for the TV Choice Best New Drama Award and the Edinburgh TV Award for Best Drama. Jim Wight Jim Wight was a partner in the same veterinary practice as his father, Alf Wight, who wrote under the pen name of James Herriot. Jim lives near Thirsk, Yorkshire, with his family.
