The work of English author Donald Maxwell (1877-1936) combined his interests in travel, writing, and creating art. He provided written content as well as illustrations to The Yachting Monthly, The Graphic, and the Church Times. Author of over 30 books, Maxwell excelled at travel writing, particularly on sights in the south of England. His sketchbooks document his many trips, and he has achieved a solid reputation for his charming renderings of specific locations, both in ink and watercolor.
