As an educator he has taught Film at the University of Gloucestershire, Hereford College of Arts and at SAE Institute in London. He has also taught screenwriting for the short film at the University of Warwick. James's books include the recently published The Year of the Geek (Aurum Press) and Bodies in Heroic Motion: The Cinema of James Cameron (Columbia University Press).
