The paintings are grouped under various headings to take the reader through specific visual experiences beginning with some of the artist’s tools, colour palettes and showing the development of texture. Seascapes and shorelines are the first stop, going through to the moors, hills and beyond.

Diana Mackie is a professional painter and qualified designer, who came to live on the Isle of Skye in 1992. She took three years out to study for a degree in Interior Design where she achieved the course medal, while taking the opportunity to develop her ideas in stained glass at the Edinburgh Stained Glass House, and painting, drawing and sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art. On returning to Skye The Three Chimneys Restaurant asked her to be their. overall designer. The brief included designing and making large stained glass panels for the main entrance, to furniture and bar design, spatial planning, external landscaping, and providing oil paintings for specific areas within the buildings. Oil painting has now become her complete focus, and her home has developed from a small croft house into her working studio and gallery. Her client base is both International and within the UK.
