A meandering buddy road tale of non-sequiturs, absurdism, and cultural snark, all run through the grinder of underground art-comic aesthetics.
Leif Goldberg's contributions to the altcomics comics scene and art world via his involvement with the art collective Fort Thunder have had lasting impacts on the visual lexicon of comics and graphic design alike. Their fearless approach to narrative, design, and their general ethos in terms of art-making revitalized the altcomics world in a way that hadn't occurred since the underground comix revolution of the 1960's-70's, and arguably hasn't been replicated since.

With Lost in the Fun Zone, Goldberg's history with the collective and what he brought to the group is distilled into this absurdist buddy road-tale that retains and by extension provides audiences visibility into that world. Outside of artists such as Brian Chippendale and CF, there have been few books available to audiences outside of the altcomics congnoscenti that channel the energy of that time and place, which this title will help to further disseminate.

Bound with a durable smyth-sewn style, attention to production quality will be a key point of distinction amongst similar titles.

Brian Chippendale: A musician and artist based in Providence, RI. One of the founding members of the Fort Thunder art collective, he is best known as the drummer and vocalist for the experimental noise rock band Lightning Bolt as well as his adventurous print-making, comics, and installation work.
