They are motors of urban development and of cultural tourism, and they hold billions in investment volume. Not only the planning and construction of new buildings, but also renovating old cultural real estate and the conversion of architectural monuments are challenging tasks. The contributions to this volume are aimed at the specifics of the respective divisions (theaters, museums, etc.) and were written by representatives of public and private agent groups involved in the planning, construction, and operation of cultural real estate. Oliver Scheytt (Dr.) ist Professor für Kulturpolitik und kulturelle Infrastruktur an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. Simone Raskob (Dr.-Ing.) ist Umwelt- und Baudezernentin der Stadt Essen. Gabriele Willems (Dipl.-Ing., MBM) ist in der Bauwirtschaft tätig.
