For thirty years, until 2015, Richard Dorment was the art critic of the Daily Telegraph. Writing almost every week it was his job to introduce, to explain and to criticise for a popular newspaper the most significant current art exhibitions, mainly in London, but ranging throughout the UK, and frequently in Paris, Amsterdam and in New York and Washington. Richard Dorment, OBE, was a curator at the Philadelphia Museum of Art before moving to London where he was a free-lance exhibition organiser and author before joining the Daily Telegraph as art critic in 1986. He retired in 2015.
