Little girl of Grand Prairie Selena Marie Gomez was born in New York on July 22, 1992, but was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, about 15 miles from Dallas. Her mother, Mandy, was just 16 when shehad Selena. She separated from Selena's father, Ricardo Gomez, five years later, marrying Selena's stepfather, Brian Teefey, in 2006. Selena was immersed in show business as a little girl.'My mom did a lot of theater when I was younger so I grew up around it, and I just always loved it,' Selena says. Kindergarten crooner Demetria Devonne Lovato was born on August 20, 1992, to Patrick and Dianna Lovato, and raised in Colleyville, Texas, near Dallas.
