Carl Vigeland, author of several books, including In Concert: Onstage and Offstage with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and, with Wynton Marsalis, Jazz in the Bittersweet Blues of Life, has written about music and other subjects for many magazines, including the Atlantic, Downbeat, the New York Times Magazine, and Boston magazine, for which he was the classical music columnist. He lives in Massachusetts.
