Lightness and flexibility as expression of the Collection’s philosophy. Second volume provides an overview of the Haniel Collection’s works on paper. –
This extensive illustrated volume presents selected Informal Art works on paper from the Haniel Collection. From the beginning these stood at the center of the company’s collection philosophy. The lightness and flexibility of paper as a medium fits perfectly with the new image of the company, which moved from heavy industry to new, future oriented business models in the 1980s. Together with individual works, this volume also shows a selection of portfolios. In these, the artists themselves or their gallerists carefully put together a number of works – those with significant artistic appeal as well as those whose qualities require perhaps a second viewing. This combination creates a unity that is much more than the sum of its parts. Together with the volume on Informal paintings, which appeared in 2010, we now have, for the first time, a detailed overview of the entire Haniel Collection.
