Each chapter combines the experiences of teens and young adults in all these spheres with up-to-date information on the resources that readers can call on as they follow their own dreams. Denise Thornton writes and edits the quarterly newsletter for the Northern Suburban Special Education District, a cooperative of 30 school districts on Chicago's North Shore that pool resources to meet the needs of their students who have physical challenges. She has been a staff writer for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison and the South Bend Tribune in Indiana. She also recently served as a freelance reporter with regular beats and a weekly column for the Lake County Bureau of The Chicago Tribune.
