THE AUTHORS José Palmer and Reinette Lombard have years of experience teaching children who struggle with reading, spelling and learning. With the TIPPIE DOES MATHS series their aim is to teach children that maths is fun. The series was co-authored with Ashleigh and Michele Hala. Ashleigh is a dedicated teacher with a Degree in Education in the Senior Phase (FET) and a decade of classroom experience. She has had the privilege of teaching Mathematics to children of all ages, but has a particular love for the Foundation Phase. Recently, she broadened her horizons by obtaining an LLB degree, with a special interest in educational law. Both inside and outside the classroom, she is passionate about making mathematics enjoyable through the application of innovative teaching methods. Michele Hala is a Grade 2 teacher and Deputy Head of Student Wellness at Broadacres Academy.
