Ruth Symons (Author) Ruth Symons is the author of several children's books, including A Year in the Wild, Christmas Lights, the Paper World series and the Sophie la girafe board books. When she's not writing and editing, Ruth loves gardening, hiking and hosting elaborate teddy bear tea parties with her young daughter. Mel Matthews (Illustrator) Mel is based in Melbourne, Australia. She studied Fine Art and Illustration and loves to draw things that make people smile. Mel is most known for her charming characters, and bright and bold illustrations for children's books. She has worked on multiple books, advertising campaigns and everything in-between, for clients including Disney, Pixar, Apple, Scholastic, PRH and Campbell Books.
