Japanese Haiku, seventeen-syllable poems.
For young and adult readers.
A delightful little book of poetry, guiding readers through the journey of the four seasons.
Inspired by her love for Japanese Haiku, Muriel started creating her own seventeen-syllable poems. She transformed excerpts from her previous works into haiku and found additional inspiration from the captivating beauty of her garden.
This passion eventually blossomed into a charming poetry book of 144 poems, thoughtfully arranged to narrate a journey through the four seasons.
A lovely introduction into the world of Haiku, this book is ideal for young readers aged 8 and above, as well as adults. It will hopefully encourages both children and adults to tap into their creativity and create their own Haiku poems.
---
Unable to read fluently at the age of forty, Muriel joined adult education classes in Wandsworth, London and embarked on a journey to improve her reading skills and communicate effectively through writing.
Today, at the age of 82, Muriel continues to inspire others to follow their passions, highlighting that the effort is always worthwhile despite any obstacles and time commitments. It’s never too late to begin, and with determination anyone can embark on new learning experiences.
