Every morning a very large and very snappy crocodile shouts a selfish message. The animals in the forest don't know what to do, until one day the smallest of them all, a little mouse, finds a way to solve their snappy dilemma. This work features illustrations that show the creatures of the forest in various colours.
Every morning a very large and very snappy crocodile shouts this selfish message: 'Stay away from my river! It's MY river! If you come in my river, I'll eat you all!' The animals in the forest don't know what to do, until one day the smallest of them all, a little mouse, finds a way to solve their snappy dilemma. Astoundingly bright, bold illustrations bring to life all the wonderful creatures of the forest in a rainbow of colours, in this classic contemporary story. The other animals we meet in this wonderful collection are a rhino who hates his horns, a giraffe who feels isolated by his height and Godfrey, a very gossipy parrot who likes nothing better than passing on a rumour and stirring up some trouble!

Michael Terry is acclaimed for his character representations of animals, first coming to notice for the cover illustrations for the novels of Dick King-Smith including The Hodgeheg and The Sheep-Pig (the basis for the successful film Babe). The Lonely Giraffe is Peter Blight's first picture book. He lives in Folkestone, Kent. Shen Roddie was born in Singapore but she now lives in Oxford. She has written 30 picture books, including three for Bloomsbury. Faustin Charles is an acclaimed poet and storyteller for children who is in huge demand for his performances. His poetry books for children, published by Bloomsbury, are Once Upon an Animal and Teacher Alligator. Faustin lives in London.
