An imaginative children’s picture book which takes a
whistle-stop tour of the Solar System in search of alien life and the ingredients
for life on Earth.
Do you ever ask yourself if there are mice living in museums
on other planets? Out there…in the Universe? Have you ever wondered if life
exists beyond our wonderful planet Earth? And if it does… how on earth do we
know?
Join Waterhouse the Mouse on a whistle-stop tour of the
Solar System as he searches for signs of life on the surface of Mars, and on
asteroids and meteoroids hurtling through space.
He inspects the robotic rovers designed to explore alien
worlds and peers through powerful telescopes, which reveal the astonishing
scale of the Universe.
Above all he learns about the four crucial ingredients for
life which make our planet such a unique place in the Solar System (as far as
we know).
David Mackintosh’s distinctive illustrations make this the
perfect book for all children who are curious about space, aliens and the
origins of life on Earth.

David Mackintosh has previosuly written and illustrated Dippy: The Nation's Favourite Dinosaur for the Natural History Museum and this book is his second with a gigantic subject. He made many trips to the Museum for inspiration for this book - but never once saw a titanosaurus. The illustrations are made with oil pencil, ink, kraftpaper and watercolour.
