Michael Ende (1929-1995) ist einer der erfolgreichsten deutschsprachigen Schriftsteller. Neben Kinder- und Jugendbüchern schrieb er poetische Bilderbuchtexte, Bücher für Erwachsene, Theaterstücke, Gedichte und Essays. Michael Endes Werke wurden in über 53 Sprachen übersetzt und erreichen heute eine Gesamtauflage von über 35 Millionen Exemplaren. Viele seiner Bücher wurden verfilmt und sind auch aus Funk und Fernsehen bekannt.
