Your child is ready to crack the code of letters and sounds! Research shows that early phonics instruction is a key to reading success. With Phonics First Steps, kids will practice decoding and build on skills they develop with each book in the 8-book set!

Developed by a phonics expert, Phonics First Steps are an innovative program designed to help kids learn to read, step by step. New and improved—our bright boxed sets include eight little easy-to-decode books (24 pages each), now illustrated in full-color, with an easier to read font for emergent readers—plus a handy parent guide. Children will gain confidence each time they say, "I read this book!" Set 1 covers short vowels, blends, and more!

JENNIFER LIBERTS is the author of numerous children's books, many in the Step Into Reading line, including Phonics Patrol (Paw Patrol) Boxed Set; Go, Go, Cars!; Go, Go, Trucks!, and many more. She grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Agoura, California. She has a BA in English literature from California State University, an MFA in poetry from Columbia University, and an MSW from Portland State University. She has worked as a children's book editor, an English teacher, and an independent bookseller, and social worker. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her three book-loving children, and an orange cat named Chuck. RON LIESER is an illustrator living and working in Ohio.
