The stories use words recommended for children to know prior to kindergarten. Early elementary students can hear correct usage and practice reading. Cinda Klickna taught English in Springfield, Illinois, for over 25 years and served in leadership roles with the Illinois Education Association for 18 years. She developed a grammar unit to help students understand appropriate usage, and Out of the Beaks of Birds: Our Crazy, Pesky…Verbs came about from telling her grandson stories about birds using various verbs. She lives in Rochester, Illinois.
