Born in Guyana in 1936, Frank Bowling arrived in Britain in his late teens, going on to study painting at the the Royal College of Art in the same cohort as David Hockney and Derek Boshier. Bowling has led an extraordinarily colourful life spanning three continents, eight decades and countless canvases and is one of Britain's most important painters.

Zoé Whitley is an American art historian and curator. Between 2020 and March 2025, Whitley directed Chisenhale Gallery. Based in London, she has held curatorial positions at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate, and the Hayward Gallery. Hélène Baum-Owoyele is an illustrator and visual artist, creating highly colourful images with watercolour and vector media. Growing up in Germany, England and France, she graduated in 2011 from l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and then worked in agencies and industry as a graphic designer in Amsterdam and finally Berlin.
