Hans and Margret Rey were both born in Germany. They lived in Brazil and went on honeymoon to Paris where they stayed for 4 years. There, Curious George was first created: Margaret wrote the story and her husband drew the illustrations. In 1940 they moved to New York where the first Curious George books were published in 1941. Hans died in 1977. X
