Storybook Phonics is a lively phonics resource that helps children to read with confidence. Disc 3 is designed for use at Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and contains nine 'talking stories', focusing on long vowel sounds, which are attractively illustrated and animated to motivate pupils. All stories are supported by fun, interactive games which give pupils the opportunity to develop blending skills for fluent reading, and to practise segmenting skills for accurate spelling. Ideal for independent and pair work on computers, Storybook Phonics is also suitable for whole-class work, using an interactive whiteboard. Stories and activities are in line with Progression in Phonics, the PiPs Supplement and are matched to the NLS word-level objectives. Printable teacher's notes are provided for each activity, along with cross-referencing to NLS documents, to save planning time. The stories are also available in print form - an ideal guided reading resource.
