Bullied by the dreaded Fug, Byron runs away from home and finds himself stuck on a tiny island when his kayak floats off. He has to survive on the things he can scavenge - and work out a way to get rescued.
Byron, bullied by the dreaded Fug, runs away from home and finds himself stuck on a tiny island of holiday homes when his kayak floats off without him. He has to survive on the things he can scavenge from the empty holiday homes and work out a way to get rescued. As he struggles to attract attention from the shore, he has time to think over how Fug controls the school, and he eventually comes up with an answer ... if only he can get back.

Malachy Doyle has written over a hundred books, from picture books to teenage novels. His books have won the Nestle Smarties Prize, the Tir na n-Og Award and the English Association Award. Malachy spent twenty-five years in Wales, before returning to Ireland, where he lives on a tiny island with his wife, cats, dogs and ducks. His previous Firefly book, Pete and the Five-a-Side Vampires, was selected for the Summer Reading Challenge 2016
